Wineries
There are a number of small, local, family-run vineyards on the Coffs Coast. All offer free tastings and tours
In Nana Glen, the Orara Vale Vineyard produces a delicious range of white and red Two Tails Wines.
The unusual name for the wines produced and bottled on the site, comes from the name of the hamlet.
The local aboriginal people call the two-tailed lizard "Nana". This also became the name for the area as the creek forks resemble the two tails of the lizard. When the first european settlers arrived, they called the village Nana Glen.
Further west in the Orara Valley, Friday Creek Retreat produces the Munoz wine range of Chambourcin Red, Chambourcin Rose or Verdhelo.
Friday Creek also offers luxurious accommodation and a huge range of activities for visitors.
Kia Ora Organic Winery, Nana Glen, produces a wonderful certified organic, preservative free, medium heavy dry red wine, made from 1OO% Chambourcin grapes with a distinct character. This wine is not only produced from organically grown grapes, but also is organically processed, producing a quality wine that can be enjoyed by wine lovers who are sensitive to sulfites.
Raleigh Vineyard and Winery is Australia's most easterly vineyard producing a fine selection of reds, whites, ports and brandy creams.
Visitors to the winery can enjoy a cheese platter and wine on the deck overlooking the Bellinger River, whilst looking out for dolphins which are frequently spotted playing.
Here you can also browse the selection of macadamia and olive products, homemade pickles, relishes and dressings.
